100% pure Camphor essential oil typically has a strong and intense aroma. It’s extracted by steam distillation from a Camphor tree that may reach up to 35 meters high. This tree is constantly green and rich with branches. It has small clustered flowers and red berries for fruit. In China and Japan Cinnamomum camphora often live up to a thousand years. The tree must be at least 50 years old for oil production and collection.  Camphor was an effective remedy for the plague in Persia. It was also used for embalming. Chinese people used the wood for building ships and temples because of its durability and aromatic properties.
