Something is in the air

An allergy is an inappropriate response to the defensive mechanisms of the immune system to otherwise harmless substances in the surrounding environment. They are triggered by allergens, small microparticles scattered in the air that are trapped on the mucous membrane in contact with the eyes, and also when breathing on the mucosa of the nose, from where they can reach the lungs. The body sees allergens as a threat to the organism and therefore triggers the production of an antibody called immunoglobulin E that initiates the release of histamine in our cells. It is in a tranquil state inside the granule of the protein cells, but after contact of the allergens with the body when these granulocytes break down and the immunoglobulin flows further into the body.

Allergens do not hurt us in normal circumstances, but for some people they can cause a really tough time. The most common allergic symptoms include itching, but in extreme cases, allergens can cause a dreaded anaphylactic shock.

Local fire alarm

Allergens most often penetrate the human body through the nose and then come into contact with the immune system, which in the case of an allergic person results in incorrect prediction of neglects the amount of the allergen by mistake as a threat to the body, which is why they then produce antibodies to immunoglobulin E and then to histamine. Such body protection leads to the formation of inflammation and swelling to prevent their further action which informs our body of it through sensual perception. Our fantastic biological construction tries to convince us about this so we can take the necessary steps to achieve equilibrium. Although it is not easy to perceive it from a positive point of view, we should not take our body as being evil because it is all for the sake of our own good.

A person with an improperly developed immunity to harmless amounts of allergens suffers during their entire period of exposure in any environment where these allergens are freely present. But all this applies only if the allergic person suffers the whole time, ignoring the ‘fire alarm‘ while not taking the necessary steps for a natural remedy.

Healing essences

Essential oils are one of the most natural ways to support the immune system. They help treat the symptoms of allergic reactions as they have the ability to fight inflammation. Our mixture of Essential Oils for Allergies helps to detoxify the body while fighting infections, bacteria, parasites, microorganisms and harmful toxins, but more importantly, it greatly reduces the body's tendency to react to external sources of allergic reactions and alleviates the disproportionate responses of the immune system.

Some oils suppress acute respiratory problems, and the subsequent stimulation of diuretic substances and sweating accelerate the secretion of toxins.

Essential peppermint oil serves as a replacement for countless different nasal sprays thanks to its positive effects.  In the form of pure essential oils, however, we do not even have to introduce anything into the nose because it is enough to drip a few drops into the aromalamp and to breathe freely. This way we can get rid of mucus, not only from allergic reactions. It is not just our subjective opinion, as you can also read about the positive anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects in the European Public Health Journal.

Lavender Essential oil is a well-known antihistamine that is also effective for treating chronic allergies. By using a very simple method, you can test its anti-inflammatory effects. If an allergic reaction causes your eyes to fill with tears, place a few drops of essential oil into your hands and breathe in the oil from your hands. Let the lavender act for at least half a minute, and you will get a positive result. In addition, this Provencal essential oil when warmed by an aroma lamp, helps to relieve headaches or calm down a severe allergic reaction resulting from a longer interaction of allergens with your mucous membranes.

Eucalyptus essential oil is another carefully selected ingredient in our anti-allergy range. It has most effective properties for the respiratory system and its antimicrobial and antimycotic properties are also well known. Among several effective terpenes is the anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of the monoterpenoid citronellal, which, in addition to exuding a citrus aroma, stimulates the mucous membrane and facilitates coughing. This effectively helps to cleanse the body from toxins and a wide range of microorganisms that act as allergens in the body. It can also be used when cleaning your house and if you are hypersensitive to a dusty environment full of unpleasant microorganisms.

Lemon essential oil and specifically its most important component, terpene limonene, demonstrably supports the lymphatic system. It acts by breaking down the fat barrier in the lymphatic system and thus helps to improve water penetration in the body. The result of this process is the release of headaches, mucus formation and stiffness of the muscles and joints, which are one of the unpleasant symptoms of allergic reactions. Regular inhalation of this essence has undisputable effects on the entire body.  Studies have also shown that limonene prevents the growth of bacteria, so by using it in the household it helps prevent the accumulation of organic allergens in a dusty environment.

The last ingredient of our healing essential oils for allergy treatment is cajeput. It is a type of tea tree, whose home and natural environment of growth are different regions of South East Asia and Australia. The name cajeput is a derivation of the word „kayu putih“, which in Indonesian means "white wood". Like other essential oils obtained from wood, cajeput essential oil contains turpentine, a rich mixture of mono-terpene alpha and beta-pinenum. They are effective fighters against airborne pathogens, where hundreds of bacteria, fungi and yeasts are present. Another of its fragrant ingredients, monoterpen eucalyptol, also known as cineol, serves as an excellent physician after attack by stinging insects. Once it is applied to the swollen site, it relieves tension under the skin, reducing redness and swelling.

Complete help in one vial

As you can see, in a small 10 ml vial we have almost got an entire allergy clinic! And as in a good outpatient prescription drug, every good doctor would not forget to warn you that something good can also be a bad thing. It musn’t be forgotten that risks are associated with overuse or the inappropriate internal use of these fantastic essences against allergies. Even the most delicate essential scent can lead to headaches in a closed environment. If you overdo the application to the swollen or otherwise damaged areas on the skin or near the mucous membrane, you risk even more severe irritation. Therefore, you need to find the right procedure and the way to get the best results. It’s important to remember that to obtain such a small amount of essential oil, you need a disproportionately large number of plant material. For the sake of imagination, it is enough to say that about 2ml of lavender essential oil, which is found in our mixture for allergies, requires about 200 grams of dried flowers of the plant. So you can imagine what extensive quantity of healing power is hiding in a whole bottle!

Recommended use

In the treatment of seasonal allergies, use our essential oil for allergies in the aroma lamp, diffusers or simply inhale directly. If you want to disinfect your household of allergens, add 10 drops of this essential oil with a little bit of white vinegar to 50 ml of water and sprinkle the mixture around your home.

When it comes to allergic rashes, swelling or insect bites, it should be applied directly to the affected site. It is best to dissolve a couple of drops of essential oil in a spoonful of coconut or olive oil and smear over the affected area as needed.

To treat acute respiratory problems associated with allergies, disperse five drops at home using the aromalamp (diffuser) or apply the essential oil into a carrier oil and than locally onto the chest. To release and clean the nasal passages, pour boiling water into a cup and add 1-2 drops of essential oil for the particular allergy. Then place a towel over your head and inhale deeply for 5-10 minutes.
